Introduction NURS FPX 6614 Assessment 2

Hi there to all of you. I greet everyone present at this gathering. First of all, I would like to thank the distinguished medical professionals in the audience, who include information technologists, nurses, doctors, hospital administrators, dietitians, and physiotherapists. The importance of interprofessional teamwork for patients with hypertension who are overweight will be the main topic of this presentation. Our interdisciplinary initiatives seek to inform these patients about the advantages of changing to a healthier way of life. Patients with obesity and hypertension can benefit from both dietary modifications and antihypertensive drugs.

However, studies suggest that within the first six months of treatment, patients may have adverse drug reactions. Owing to these negative consequences, patients could find it difficult to take their prescription drugs as directed. However, research indicates that changing one’s lifestyle such as eating a healthier diet and exercising can lower blood pressure and reduce body weight without having negative side effects. In order to help obese and hypertension patients make better lifestyle choices, healthcare professionals must work together to design these solutions.

Steps to Improve Inter-professional Collaboration

Overview to Enhance Evidence-based Practice

Every day, new findings are made that result in better patient care strategies and treatments. Better methods and more solid data are provided by new studies for patient therapy. Information that helps healthcare providers give the best care possible is constantly being discovered by researchers (O’Cathain et al., 2019). In order to improve healthcare personnel’ use of evidence-based practice, the organization ought to start offering relevant training. It is also advantageous to give healthcare workers enough time to evaluate and apply research findings.

According to Lafuente et al. (2019), professionals who possess proficiency in evidence-based practices can function as mentors and educators for their peers. Healthcare executives can also make materials easier to access and offer the required assistance for the quest of evidence-based literature. In a clinical environment, this strategy for enhancing evidence-based practices will also improve interprofessional collaboration (Lafuente et al., 2019).

Explanation of the Planning Stages

The following actions can be performed to advance evidence-based practices and improve interprofessional cooperation:

  1. Establishing inter-professional teams: Frank et al. (2020) state that forming inter-professional teams of nurses, physicians, dietitians, physiotherapists, hospital administrators, and IT specialists is critical to improving collaboration.
  2.  Designating team leaders: These individuals will use tactics backed by solid evidence. Additionally, leaders will determine if there is enough data to support a new strategy. In order for leaders to assess progress and make any required modifications, data collecting will continue (Frank et al., 2020).
  3.  Regular team meetings: To set objectives based on patient needs, the team will meet on a regular basis under the direction of assigned team leaders. In these team sessions, healthcare professionals can voice their opinions and preferences, fostering better interprofessional collaboration. These gatherings will help new ideas to be adopted in order to improve health outcomes, cut expenses, reduce mistakes (Frank et al., 2020).

Educational Services and Resources

Educational Methodologies

  1. Leveraging Health Information Technology (HIT): Nurses and other team members can make use of telemedicine and other healthcare IT (Chike-Harris et al., 2021). Healthcare providers can evaluate their patients’ adherence to new, healthy habits and educate them about healthier lifestyle options through telehealth.
  2. Determining the patient’s preferred mode of learning: Since patients have different learning preferences, it’s critical to ascertain if printed materials or telemedicine would be more beneficial to them (Chike-Harris et al., 2021).
  3. Customizing instruction to the patient’s interests: Patients ought to understand how important it is to have knowledge about healthy living options. It is important to converse
